Reviews about Capri
- 5 / 5By Jami Cannatella - MulliganEverything we have tried is excellent! The only restaurant I found that makes the BEST chicken Francese in the New Windsor/Newburgh area! Would recommend to everyone I know.April 25, 2017
- 5 / 5By Janis BorguetaTHE Best Pizza in the Hudson Valley. I have flown their amazing sauce all the way to California, Chicago and Washington DC per request of family members. Once you go you will want to return. I have been eating at Capri ever since I moved here in 1983. Great food and reasonable prices. A local home cooked meal or pizza is the way to go. After a long week we find ourselves here most Friday evenings!! Enjoy.November 15, 2016

- 3 / 5By Justin LevineDon't ask me how this place is good. An Italian restaurant in Newburgh, on Broadway no less? Good thing I don't ask questions, I just eat. I just to live and New Windsor, and my family got takeout from here all the time although we never ate in. I went here with very low expectations the first time and they've consistently given a decent meal. They do many small things right here that some of the best restaurants consistently get wrong. The place isn't much to look at, but the service is great. On all visits, we weren't rushed, brought out the food promptly, and the servers were very nice people. They get their bread from Torino bakery next store I believe, so that's pretty good. They also give garlic bread for free, which was a big plus for us as my little brother loves that. To boot, the garlic bread was better than most of the places where you end up paying for it. The salad I got with my meal was great. Their house dressing is a lemon-garlic vinaigrette, and they actually make a nice salad with different types of lettuce and other stuff. Again, they do little things right which add up. The best main by far is the chicken francese. Their lemon butter sauce has a perfect balance, the chicken is very tender, and when they fry it just right (not always) the chicken has a nice crisp coating heavy with egg. For a side my go to is the homemade fettuccine with garlic and oil. They do NOT skip on the garlic which comes as fried little bombs of flavor coating the fresh pasta. My Mom is also a big fan of the burgandy sauce. Overall my entire family consistently enjoyed their meals here, which is as rare as Haley's comet. For dessert I didn't care for the cannoli here because their shell isn't good, but their regular cheesecake was ok. These people may not be Tarry Lodge or Cena 2000 in terms of being gourmet, but they do care about what they're doing and it shows. I appreciate that over cooking technique any day.May 28, 2016
